Zamfara state government has objected to the release of names of four Covid-19 positively tested persons in Zamfara state as captured in the dashboard of National Center for Disease Control NCDC.

State Commissioner for Health Yahaya Abubakar Kanoma gave the objection while addressing the press at the State Medical Store in Gusau the state capital on Thursday.

Kanoma said as a Commissioner he only saw the figure on NCDC dashboard and no stakeholder in Zamfara was informed how the figure was arrived at by the National Center for Disease Control.

He said to the best of his knowledge up to the month of March 2021, Zamfara state is zero index when it comes to Covid-19 cases noting the state government is taking pro-active measures to sustain its position.

He said the Governor has completed the Covid-19 testing center as well as equipped it with all the necessary facilities required for it to operate.

Though the state is yet to start Covid-19 testing Kanoma explained that officials of the National Center for Disease Control have already visited the center and asked the state government to make some adjustments which he said soonest Zamfara will start testing the sample received from various health facilities in the state.
