Bloggers, Communication Consultants and operators of Online Television platforms have formally melted in to an umbrella named “Zamfara New Media Operators Forum” (ZANMOF) aimed at working as team to promote the operation of new media operation in Zamfara State.
The meeting of the new media operators took place at the Conference Galary of “Thunder Blowers Multi Media Services” at No 71 and 72 Fadama Plaza Gusau the state capital on Sunday.
It was chaired by a seasoned media practitioner Malam Haliru Andi Mainan Gusau and had in attendance up to (20) heads of new media organisations.
The meeting features deliberation on developing the constitution of the forum, code of ethics and practice as well as interim leadership of those who are to steer the activities of the platform pending the election of substantive executive members.
The managing Editor of Thunder Blowers Anas Sani Anka was nominated to head the forum, Abdulmalik Saidu Maiburedi was to serve as his Secretary while Malam Haliru Andi was nominated to serve as Treasurer, Rashida Haruna of RH TV was nominated as Head of Welfare while the Group Head of Bahsan TV was nominated to serve as Organizing Secretary.
The interim leadership are to work for a period of six month within which to stabilise the forum and conduct elections.
A committee on drafting of Constitution and Code of Ethics and practice was also set up and given to weeks within which to submit the draft report to the larger house for deliberation and adoption.
Another mini committee was also set up to regularize the formal registration of the forum with the corporate affairs commission.
