Attorney General of the federation and Nigeria’s Minister of Justice Abubakar Shehu Malami has led the federal government delegation to Zamfara state to commiserate with the people of the state over the recent fire inferno at Tudun Wada market in Gusau the state capital.
In the e tourage were the Ministers of Aviation Hadi Sirika, that of Police Affairs Maigari Dingyadi, Rauf Aragbesola Minister of Internal Affairs, their counterpart for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Sadiya Umar Faruk and Presidential Spokesperson Malam Garba Shehu.
Minister Malami said they were in Zamfara on the mandate of the President to sympathize with the government and people of Zamfara State over the fire disaster.

He said the federal government was shocked with the news of the incident and felt it was only better to pay such a sympathy visit.
He said the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Sadiya Umar Faruk was part of the presidential delegation simply in order to assess the level of damage done and to identify areas of intervention.
He explained that, before their arrival, Zamfara has recorded another remarkable achievement of getting the District Head and a local government Councilor representing Boko and a member of the All Progressive Congress released from abduction nothing that this could have not been possible without the giant effort of the Governor.

On behalf of the federal government delegation, Malami announced the donation of five million naira to the victims of the fire incident in the state.
He also announced the donation of two million naira to the victims on behalf of his foundation based in Kebbi State.
In his remarks, Governor Bello Matawalle thanked the President for sending a powerful ministerial delegation to visit Zamfara State simply to commiserate with the people over the tragedy.
The Governor also told the delegation that his administration has already ordered for the reconstruction of the 63 units of the shops affected by the fire inferno.

He acknowledged that despite party differences the President always allow him to official visit to brief him on matters arising from Zamfara State a situation he considered as commendable.
He emphasized the commitment of his administration of continuing with the existing peace deal with a view to ensuring a sustainable and lasting peace.
