Zamfara State government has constituted a committee led by State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management with a mandate to assess the extent of the damages caused by the attacks at the various communities in Maradun and Bakura local government areas with a view to aiding the victims.
State Commissioner for Information Ibrahim Magaji Dosara who stated this in a statement explained that, government directed security agencies in the state to deploy more of their men to keep vigil on the communities to ensure adequate protection of lives and property of the people within and around the respective villages.
Speaking to the communities on behalf of the state government, leader of the state government delegation Speaker Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya said the government was very much worried and is working hand-in-hand with the security agencies in the state to find a lasting solution to the security challenges facing the state.
According to Dosara government also condoled with the families of those who lost their lives in the sad event and is taking every necessary steps to ensure that the culprits are brought to book.
Dosara further said, the government also directed the two local government councils’ sole administrators of Maradun and Bakura to always report any attempt by the hoodlums to attack their communities to security agencies for quick action to avert lost of lives.
Other members of the committee include Secretary to Zamfara State Government Bala Bello Maru, Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs Abubakar Justice Dauran, State Police Commissioner Abutu Yaro and Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Abubakar Jafar Maradun.
The government also assured the people of the areas of adequate security during the forth coming rainy season farming to give them the much-needed protection to cultivate their farm lands.
