Governor Bello Matawalle has asked state civil servants to venture in to business activities as a way of getting alternative source of livelihood.

Matawalle made the call when he received leadership of the trade unions led by the executives of the NLC for Ramadan breakfast.

In a statement by the Director General press Affairs to the Governor Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau the Governor said, his administration is working harder to get all public and private properties registered so that those who owns such properties can use their certificates to secure bank loans for alternative business ventures.

He warns civil servants to be realistic in their agitation for the implementation of the new minimum wage saying once the resources are available he will implement it without delay.

Earlier, the State Chairman of the NLC, Comrade Sani Halliru thanked the governor for hosting the workers to break the ramadan fast with him and prayed for Allah to reward the governor abundantly.

Comrade Halliru who commended the governor over his peace and dialogue initiative with bandits, declared that some union members from other states facing security challenges are now calling on their governors to copy the Zamfara initiative so that they can enjoy peace.

The chairman appealed to the governor to help the union with a bus to ease part of its transportation needs.
