Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has paid an unscheduled visit to Zamfara State Police Command on Tuesday.
In a statement by the spokesperson of the state police command SP shehu Muhammad said, the Governor was received by the state police commissioner CP Hussaini Rabiu and his management staffers.
Shehu said, the visit was part of the initiative of the Governor aimed at boosting the morale of the officers and men who have been actively working to save lives and properties of the people of the state.
The Governor commended officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force working in Zamfara for the unwavering commitment to ending banditry and armed bandit activities in the state and also help restore normalcy.
While urging the officer to redouble effort In making Zamfara safer, Matawalle assured them of his administration’s commitment to supporting them in all ramifications.
Shehu further said Governor Matawalle thanked the police commissioner and his management team for their proactive leadership in promoting civil engagement especially during the Monday protest in some part of Kaura Namoda local government area of the state.
He also said Matawalle called on the police and other security operatives in the state to always remain resolute and determined to deal with any person or group that embark on actions capable of creating fear and confusion in the state.
He also charged them to comply with the presidential directive regarding illegal possession of AK 47 Rifle by unauthorized persons and groups in the state.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police Zamfara State, Hussaini Rabiu thanked the Governor for the visit noting that, it will surely boost the morale of the operatives who are along their duty line in trying to bring an end to the prevailing security challenges facing the state.
He also promised to work in synergy with the state government, security agencies and other relevant stakeholders in finding a lasting solution to the security challenges facing the state.
