Some staff members of Zamfara Psychiatric Hospital Anka have allegedly connived to auction all the assets of the hospital including electric transformer.
The revelation came during an assessment tour of the health facilities in Zamfara by the management of Zamfara Hospital Mnagement Board when it was discovered that, the staff connive to remove the roofing zinc of most of the buildings in the hospital and lastly auctioned the water tank reservoir for hospital.
Other items removed by the staff include windows, doors, mattresses, beds, and lastly wrecked the entire administrative block and majority wards in the hospital.
During the interrogation by the visitation team, it was discovered that the Director of Finance and Supply masterminded the scandalous act and was principally aided by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
The visitation panel expressed sadness with the development and allow them 48 hours within which to return all the stolen government assets, or else he handed them over to security agencies for proper action.
The panel pledged that he would write to the Director of State Security Services for further action, noting that the board under his watch would no longer tolerate such attitude that are demeaning.
