Zamfara state government has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Turkish investors aimed at establishing (5) operational companies in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday by the state Commissioner of Commerce, Industries and Tourism Yazid Shehu Umar Danfuni Gusau.
He said the Governor and his entourage while in Turkey had also met with over twenty companies and other potential investors who demonstrated their interest to invest in various sectors of the state economy.
Few among the companies that have interface with the Governor include,
Tomato Paste company, Yogurt and Bottling company, Textile and Renewable Energy investors and Animals feed company.
The Commissioner noted further that, Zamfara state government has been in talking term with ASISGUARD- a defence company operating in areas of manufacturing and operation of armed drones, artificial intelligence, Electro- optical systems, military vehicle and electronics and Fiber.
Other companies that had the opportunity of interacting with the state government delegations in Turkey are Reinforcement material company, which specialized in the production of alternative reinforcement materials, aimed at substituting steel rods with rubber reinforcement, which is a more modern technology, RIDI (SESAME PROCESSING COMPANY), Highway and Building Construction Companies respectively.
Shehu further stated that, during the visit Governor Matawalle discussed with several stakeholders on various areas aimed at improving the state and livelihood, particularly on the initiatives that centered around generating alternative energy to the state.
He added that, discussion is ongoing with some of the companies that would build wind turbines in some Local Government Areas of the state.
On the impacts of the engagement, the Commissioner said, if the companies contacted finally established their ground in Zamfara state, it would surely enhance the ease of doing business and boost employment opportunities and create alternative source of doing business.
On why the investors picked interest of coming to Zamfara the Commissioner said, it was as a result of availability of raw materials, industrial layout as well as government sincere commitment toward ending insecurity.
While commending the Turkish government for the warm reception accorded to the Zamfara state government delegations during the visit, Shehu further said the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle has assured the interested companies of the state government’s unrelenting support, good enabling business environment and investors friendly policies.
The Commissioner explained that the companies would soon deploy their technical teams to assess the situation of things physically and revert to their country for further action.
