Leadership of the Nigeria Labor Congress has met with the Executive Secretary of Zamfara Contributory Health Care Management Agency to discuss progress recorded with the ongoing revalidation of the enrollees and reopening of access to health facilities by the state civil servants.
Addressing members of the executive of the union at the state Secretariat in Gusau on Wednesday the Executive Secretary Dr. Abdulkadir Aliyu Shinkafi said, the agency had already concluded its first phase of the revalidation exercise noting that, the second phase of the exercise would soon commence.
He explained further that, the Agency would soon begin the distribution of personal identification cards to the enrollees from the formal sector
Shinkafi called on all the civil servants to visit the health facilities they have chosen, register and open files for them to begin to access health care services.
He commended the effort of the leadership of the NLC in Zamfara for the understanding and assured them of his readiness to continue to partner with them for the success of the agency
In his remarks, the State NLC Chairman Comr. Sani Halliru commended the effort of the Executive Secretary of ZAMHEMA for taking proactive measures of bringing sanity into the operation of the agency.
He also expressed happiness with the steps taken by the agency of allowing enrollees to chose health facility of their choice and also for down-sizing the cost of capitation to health facilities from N400 to N350 naira per beneficiary.
The State NLC chairman further called on the state government to start remitting its counterpart fund to the agency so that it can compliment the savings of the state civil servants.
He also warned state ministry of finance to always ensure that, all deductions due to ZAMCHEMA have been remitted as at when due to avoid crises with the savings of the enrollees.
