Member representing Maru North Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma has described as unfortunate how revenue generating agencies are becoming reluctant in remitting IGR to the state state government coffers despite huge amount they are generating

The lawmaker who raised the alarm during a debate on the floor of the state assembly when the House committee on finance and appropriation presented their report on the need for the downward review of the 2021 budget of the state said, the house need to take further steps to compel the agencies to doing the right thing.

The lawmaker who cited tertiary institutions as an example pointed at school of nursing and midwifery where over 1,500 students are admitted yearly with a minimum of N5,000 as registration fees but ended up having nothing to remit to the State.

According to the Spokesperson of the house Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, the house leader Faruk Musa Dosara said there is compelling need for the house to summon all revenue generating agencies to appear and explain how they generate and expended their revenues.
