Zamfara state police command has announced the arrest of a suspect by name Abdullahi Sani Mohammed of Karofin Madaki Area of Bauchi State over alleged stealing of Honda Anaconda (2012) model.
Addressing members of the press at the police command headquarters in Gusau on Monday, Zamfara Police Commissioner Ayuba Elkana said, “on the 1st of April 2022 Police in Gusau Central Police Station received information from Bauchi State that, the above-mentioned suspect involved in a minor motor vehicle accident at a point before Ganjuwa LGA of Bauchi State was driving a stolen vehicle.
Elkana further said, the vehicle was alleged to have been stolen at the residence of one Usman Shehu of Danturai area of Gusau the state capital.
He further said, “police detectives moved to Bauchi State and arrested the suspect along with the vehicle”.
CP Elkana said, a locally fabricated pistol was recovered inside the stolen vehicle, which is likely to be owned by the suspect.
He added that, Investigation is in progress with a view to arresting other members of his gang, after which they would be prosecuted in court.
