Zamfara police command has announced the rescue of (39) kidnapped victims who are natives of Bungudu and Maru local government areas of the state.
State police Commissioner Ayuba Elkana who stated this during a press conference in Gusau on Monday said, “on the 10th of April, 2022, Police Tactical operatives on clearance operations have rescued thirty-nine (39) Kidnapped victims, who were abducted in March and early April 2022 at various villages and locations in Bungudu and Maru LGAs.
Elkana further said, among the rescued victims include (8) male persons, (15) females including nursing mothers and 16 children.
He further said, “the achievement was as a result of the ongoing clearance operation by the Joint Police and Military at Dabar Magaji camp located at Kadanya forest, stretching between Kaura Namoda and Maradun local government areas of the state.
According to the CP the victims have been medically examined by the joint Police and state government medical teams and later got debriefed.
He added that they will be handed over to the officials of the two (2) local governments for them to be reunited with their families.
