Some suspected gunmen attacked four local farmers at Yandoto town in Zamfaar state killed one person and injured three others.
The attack was launched at around 7:30am on Monday while the farmers were at their farms and the bandits reportedly shot at the victims sporadically.
Though they were unable to enter the Yandoto town as planned due to the presence of local security operatives popularly known as “Yan-Sakai” they fired at anyone sighted at his farm.
A source who spoke to this medium in confidence stated that six months backs, the same group of bandits had enforced a levy of N14,000,000 naira to some Yandoto indigenes arrested, and the money was paid to secure their release.
He added that less than a month now, they have sent a message of another levy of N14,000,000 to the people of the community, but they resisted ot outrightly.
He said they have made several attempts to invade Yandoto town, but the local vigilante operatives repel those attempts.
According to a source, the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the General Hospitals Tsafe in Zamfara state.
