Some suspected bandits numbering over hundred invaded Gidan Goga market in Maradun local government area of Zamfara state on Wednesday.
The bandits who came on board motorcycles were armed with deadly weapons and on arrival at the market they started firing shots sporadically, a circumstance that scared many people.
A source told BBC Hausa service that, the bandits came to the marker at around 4:00pm on Wednesday when people had finished observing their Asr prayer.
He stated that three person died during the attack while many were admitted at the Kaura Namoda General Hospital.
In a related development, another set of bandits invaded a town in Bukkuyum local government area of Zamfara state where over forty people were abducted.
Even though, according to the source, about ten of these bandits were later released.
Police could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
