BANDITS SUFFER ANOTHER CASUALTY IN GUNFIRE WITH JOINT SECURITY FORCES IN ZAMFARA

Some suspected bandits armed with deadly weapons have invaded Sakajiki community in Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara state and killed some security operatives.

A source said, the bandits entered into Sakajiki town around 3;30pm on Tuesday and invaded a security formation based in the town.

“Immediately they entered the town, they went straight to the security base and started firing gun-shots at them. They killed one security personnel at the base and shot at another one at a different location within the town”

“The security operatives had fired back immediately and luckily for them, the military operatives had brought in powerful re-enforcement and engaged the bandits in a very deadly operation.”.

According to our source, the security operatives had succeeded in killing huge number of them, as residents said they have seen the corpses of the bandits being evacuated out of Sakajiki town.

“As we speak, residents of Sakajiki town are moving to safer places as women and children are all over the streets of Kaura Namoda and some have left to other local governments where they have relations, and it seems due to the fear of reprisal no one will make the mistake of staying within Sakajiki town.

Zamfara police Spokesperson SP Shehu Muhammad confirmed the incident and said more reinforcement has been sent to support the ongoing confidence building operation in the area.

The successes recorded according to Shehu were as a result of the prompt response of the joint forces after receiving distress calls from the community.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
