GOV. BELLO MATAWALLE SWEARS IN SSG, HEAD OF SERVICE COMMISSIONERS AND SPECIAL ADVISERS.

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has sworn in (18) new Commissioners and members of the state executive council.

He had also sworn in (11) new Special Advisers and some permanent secretaries

The new Secretary to the State Government Alh Kabiru Balarabe and Head of Service Kabiru Muhammad Gayari were also sworn-in.

The Governor had also administered another oath to all his appointees exonerating themselves from the ongoing armed bandit activities in the state.

According to a statement by the Governor’s Spokes Person Malam Zailani Bappa said, the Governor had enjoined the new appointees to brace up for what he described as “the new beginning” of an era of consolidating the gains recorded in the last two years of the administration.

Bappa said, the Governor extolled the virtues of his Government’s new choice and said, “A cursory overview of the antecedents of the members of the new team is enough to convince everyone that a new march to make Zamfara State great has begun”.

He added that Governor Matawalle warned that his administration will not condone laxity or complacency at this critical hour of the state’s journey out of the woods as the bandits are fast being routed while a new beginning that will usher in peace and conducive atmosphere for development is assured.

Bappa said the Governor reviewed the successes being recorded as a result of the recent stringent measures taken to route the bandits in the state, noting that already, hundreds of the bandits are already on the tun after hundreds of them have been killed and others arrested along with hundreds of their collaborators across the state.

He added that the administration of Bello has initiated palliative measures aimed to address the hardship being experienced as a result of the measures earlier taken, Governor Matawalle called on citizens in the state to continue to exercise more patience as there is certainly a light beaming at the end of the tunnel.

Bappa said, Governor Matawalle also took time to review his recent visits to the US and Turkey where he said the two -week official engagements has ended in a very positive result with several companies having signed MoUs with the Government on a wide range of developmental initiatives. These cut across science, health, education, security, and commerce.

“The Governor announced that a Turkish company will engage in the provision of fighter drones and its operation to further improve on the fight against the bandits in the state. This will be consolidated on the 20th of this month when the Turkish President arrives Nigeria to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari”.

“Additionally, the Government has signed an MoU with Cuba involving relations in the area of science, health, and technology. This will see students from Zamfara state studying in these areas in Cuba”.

“Governor Matawalle also met with the Board of Directors of MAP International, where he discussed medical health supplies, particularly for IDP camps, and the upgrade of medical equipment in Zamfara State hospitals. MAP also donated five containers of hospital supplies, one of which is already on its way to Lagos. It pledged to send more medical supply containers to supplement the five that had already been donated to the State”.

Other achievements recorded in the visit according Bappa include the meeting with the Turkish -Nigerian Business Congress along with some Nigerian Governors where they met with more than 20 companies willing to invest in the concerned states.

For Zamfara State, Governor Matawalle signed a memorandum of understanding with one of the investors to establish mineral resources and gold buying center in Zamfara State while others to establish a Tomato paste company, Yoghurt and bottling company
and an Animal feed company.

FMR. ZAMFARA SPEAKER SCORES (229) TO DELIVERS POLING

Former Speaker of Zamfara House of Assembly Sanusi Garba Rikiji of the APC has scored a total of (229) votes to defeat the PDP who polls (61) votes only.

His poling unit is Rumfar Galadima (013) in Gusau the capital city of Zamfara State.

As for the result of the state house of assembly in his poling units, APC scored a total of (232) to defeat the PDP who polls (51) votes.

Rikiji is currently the house of reps candidate for Gusau and Tsafe in the 2023 election, whose election was declared inclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He is contesting the seat together with the serving members Kabiru Amadu Mai Palace, who is from the opposition PDP.

CHAIR ZBIRS, WORKS COMMISSIONER, DELIVERS POLING UNITS

The Chairman of Zamfara State Board of Internal Revenue Service, Ali Akilu Dama Bungudu has also delivered his poling unit.

His party the APC scored a total (173) to defeat the PDP who scored (111) votes.

Similar votes were also recorded for both political parties at the level of State assembly elections.

Similarly, Zamfara State Commissioner for Works Rabiu Garba Gusau has delivered his poling units with a wide margin to defeat the PDP.

APC scored (96) votes to defeat the opposition People’s Democratic Party, which scored (16) votes for both the Governorship election and state assembly for Gusau (1) at his poling unit.

SHA’AYAU S. PAWA MAFARA SCORES (502) VOTES TO DEFEAT PDP WITH ZERO VOTE.

A political ally of former Governor Yari Sha’ayau Yusuf S. Paws has defeated PDP in his Township Primary school poling unit in Talatar Marafa local government area of Zamfara State.

According to an official result sheet, the politician who is a member of All Progressives Congress (APC) scored (502) votes to defeat the PDP who scored (0) votes.

The politician has made history since 2015 by maintaining the only poling units which opposition party has never won a single vote during election.

He repeated the same history during the 2023 Presidential and national assembly elections conducted three weeks back, when PDP failed to score a single vote.
