Governor Bello Matawalle has led Zamfara state APC delegation to the Northern Elders meeting with the 2023 Presidential candidates in Kaduna on Monday.

The Governor who is the Coordinator of Bola Tinubu campaign Presidential campaign committee for the North West geopolitical zone was accompanied by the APC big-wigs in the state.

The meeting was organized by a combined committee of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Northern Elders Forum (NEF) Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (ABMF), Jamaiyar Matan Arewa (JMA), Arewa House Center for Historical Research (AHCHR) and Arewa Research and Development Project (ARDP).

APC Presidential candidate Bola Ahmad Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Peter Obi of Labour Party, Kola Abiola of the PRP and Adebayi Adewale of the SDP attended the meeting.

Former Governor Yari, Yariman Bakura, Mamuda Shinkafi and all their Deputies, serving and former senators as well as members of the federal house of representatives accompanied the Governor to the venue of the interface.

Governor Matawalle who was visibly emotional appeared at the venue of the meeting with all the powerful forces that made up the politics of Zamfara state.

One of the former Senators who accompanied the Governor to the event expressed happiness with the show of unity by Zamfara APC stalwarts who do not only demonstrated an ardent of political loyalty but became the beacons of political strengths for the APC and Bola Ahmad Tinubu.

“You can see, the Zamfara APC stalwarts have dominated the show in the Tinubu delegation. All those that matters in Zamfara politics are behind the Governor and that show that Matawalle is a “symbol of political unity in the 21st century”.

“You knew where we came especially after the 2019 political crises in the APC and because God almighty wishes APC the best he brought in Matawalle and his political experience to help seal the party differences and zoomed-in all the factions under one umbrella and make the party stronger and today the entire Zamfara is here”.

“Former Governor Yari building forces together with Matawalle and Yarima in the Zamfara West, Mamuda Shinkafi with Sen. Sahabi Yau, Aminu Jaji and rest in the Zamfara North and Sen. Marafa with the likes of Wakkala, RIKIJI and rest in the Zamfara central I will say, APC is intact and it’s chances of winning the 2023 is highly uncontested” The former Senator added.

He added “Yari is a two term Governor same thing with Yarima even as Mamuda served as Governor of Zamfara for four years. You know their strength politically and those remaining others that made up the architecture of the Zamfara politics of Zamfara since 1999 are behind the political alignment of Matawalle in the APC I will say the game is over”.

Another member of the delegation who took advantage of the meeting to share his experience with the recent political development in Zamfara said, the types of political impunity displayed by the PDP, and its gubernatorial candidate last week is simply a deliberate admission of failure ahead of the 2023 election.

He insisted that“ PDP will be defeated to its knees and the people of Zamfara are only playing mockery of them because they believed they do not have the requisite political power brokers to support its success in the 2023 election.

They are championing crises because they have realized that beyond the usual rented crowd that usually accompanied their gubernatorial candidate from Yankara to Gusau and get paid, they do not have the right chain of political architecture for winning election”.
