GOV. MATAWALLE TENDERS DUPLICATE OF RESULT SHEETS, B-VAS REPORT & VOTERS REGISTER FOR MARADUN AS HE OPENED HIS CASE AT THE TRIBUNAL.

At the resume hearing of the petition filed by Bello Muhammad Matawalle and APC challenging the election of Dauda Lawal as Governor of Zamfara, the tribunal invited Dr. Mikailu Ibrahim Barau who is the star witness for the APC for examination by counsels.

Earlier before the commencement of the proceeding, APC lead counsel Mr. Usman O. Sule (SAN) apologized to the tribunal for his inability to attend the two proceedings which he stated was as a result of the death of his elder brother.

He stated that with the resumption of the sitting on Friday, the petitioners are fully ready to open their case and asked the tribunal to invite his (DW2) Dr. Mikailu Barau to the witness box.

Mr. Usman Sule (SAN) through his witness tendered certified true copies of form EC8B for the ten wards of Maradun, list of registered voters for 195 poling units in Maradun and EC8B for all the thirteen local governments’ areas of the state.

He also tendered through the witness duplicate of the EC8C of Maradun local government which contained the over 98,000 votes scored by the APC as was issued to the APC Agent by the INEC.

Mr. Usman Sule also tendered certified true copies of form EC8C for the fourteen local governments, certified true copy of the registered voters for the four wards in Birnin Magaji as well as a complete certified true copy of the B-Vass report from the INEC.

Counsels to all the three respondents, Dauda Lawal, PDP and INEC told the tribunal that, they have reserved their arguments as to the objection to the admissibility of the documents to the stage of adopting a final address.

The tribunal also re-affirmed its position that, whatever the grounds parties have for the objection to the admissibility of the documents tendered by the petitioners, the arguments should be reserved until the stage of final address. The tribunal admitted all the documents and marked the same as exhibits.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
