A grand unity rally was conducted in honor of the two factions of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Zamfara State.
The two factions of the APC are led by the seating Zamfara Governor Bello Matawalle and former Governor Yari.
The rally which was spreaded all over the streets of Gusau the capital city terminated at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Gusau and was attended by thousands of party supporters from across the devide.
Former Governors Ahmad Sani Yarima, Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi and Abdulazeez Yari attended the rally.
The rationale behind the rally was to allow for supporters across the political divide within the APC to embrace the reconciliation accord entered into by their leaders.
It could be recall that, the national leadership of the party led by Sen. Abdullahi Adamu facilitated the reconciliation move between the two strong factions of the APC in Zamfara with a view to brokering peace within the party.
The two leaders signed an agreement in the presence of the national Chairman, and among the terms’ of the agreement entered into was to share political seats and appointments within the supporters of both factions of the APC.
The reconciliation move resulted in Yari and Marafa securing a consensus ticket to contest for the post of Senators for Zamfara West and Central.
