Suspected gunmen numbering over eighty (80) invaded Kurfi town in the broad daylight of Tuesday, where they attempted to rustle livestock in their multiple numbers.
According to the statement by the Police spokesperson Gambo Isah the bandits attacked Dadawa and Barkiya town in Kurfi local government area of Katsina state.
An online Medium Katsina Post reported that, significant number of these bandits were wounded while others were killed by armed police officers who responded to the distress calls by the locals.
According to the report, the police were able to recover (109) assorted number of livestock that were earlier rustled by the bandits.
According to Gambo Isah the incident happened around 1:30pm on Tuesday noting that, the number of bandits was estimated to be about (80) eighty.
Gambo Isah added that police tactical team had been on patrol and surveillance of the area with a view to getting more of the culprits arrested.
