Suspected armed bandits in their dozens invaded Kuryar Madaro town in Kaura Namoda Emirate of Zamfara State killed close to two dozen people including aged and married women.
A source who attended the funeral prayers and burial of those killed informed this medium that he had participated in the burial of (19) persons who died as a result of the attack.
He said they came to the town around 10:00pm on Tuesday armed with deadly weapons and started shooting sporadically, a circumstance that led to the catastrophe which befalls the people of the town.
He further informed this medium that, they burnt eleven vehicles and dozens of shops, while many people fled for their safety.
He added that up to the time he left Kuryar Mdaro town for Gusau late evening of Wednesday there was no presence of security personnel while people sleep in fear and grief.
The Kuryar Madaro attack came exactly one week after same bandits attacked Biyabiki community in Tsafe local government area of the state slaughtered (9) persons and abducted over sixty mostly women and children.
Zamfara State Police Spokes Person SP Shehu Muhammad could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
