Former Zamfara State Police Commissioner Usman Nagogo has been decorated with his new rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police.

Until his promotion Nagogo was the
Commissioner of Police in charge of IGP’s Project and Monitoring Unit Force Headquarters Abuja.

When he was the CP of Zamfara Nogogo championed the second peace initiative between the armed bandits and government, an idea that brought relative peace and stability in the state.

His peace initiative in Zamfara led to the recovery of over 1,000 weapons and thousands of live amunitions from both bandits and local vigilante group members.

The peace deal championed by CP Nagogo had also succeeded in getting over 2,000 persons freed from captivity without payment of dime as ransom, and he has also championed the neutralizing of many armed bandits camps within Zamfara forest.

Under him as Zamfara Police Commissioner he has also championed the fight against local burglary and theft and many dangerous areas in Gusau become safer under him with cases of house burgling, theft and armed robbery reducing to barest minimum.

He was the CP who championed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between three states of Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina and neighboring country of Niger Republic.

He was the police Commissioner in Zamfara that championed the full enforcement of presidential order on illegal mining activities and under his watch he succeeded in arresting and prosecuting many illegal miners in Zamfara State including Chinese and nationals from Togo and Burkina Faso.

Under his reign as Zamfara CP, Nagogo maintained a strong cordial relationship with other sister security agencies as he ensures regular if not monthly security briefing on progress recorded and challenges ahead in the fight against armed bandit activities.

His redeployment to head the border patrol as AIG would no doubt help in strengthening security along Nigerian borders.
