The meeting between the Zamfara State government and the leadership of the two labour unions namely: Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) took place at the office of the head of service in Gusau on Thursday.
The state head of service Kabiru Muhammad Gayari and the leadership of the two unions were in attendance.
Issues related to the implementation of the N30,000 minimum wages took the center stage of the discussion.
The union insisted in the meeting that there is no going back in their quest to ensuring that the state government has implemented the N30,000 minimum wages no matter the excuse.
The two unions expressed dismay with lackadaisical attitude demonstrated by the government of Zamfara over the issue of implementation of N30,000 minimum wages and expressed wonder why the government is not having the deserving political will to trash out the matter.
They raised fear that it is either the state government is not being properly briefed on the outcome of previous meetings held between the labor unions and its representative over the minimum wage matter, or it is playing a logic
They appealed to the state civil servants to tarry for a while and allow the leadership of the labor to continue to consult widely with a view to accessing possible ways of getting the minimum wage implemented.
