The Katsina State executive Council has approved the sum of N7,813,423,560.83 for the procurement of operational vehicles and other security gadgets.
Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs Dr. Nasiru Muazu Danmusa announced this at the end of the state executive Council meeting held in Katsina which was chaired by Governor Umar Dikko Rada.
Breakdown of the security expenditure has shown that, a total of N4,852,613,400 has been approved for the procurement of operational vehicles for security agencies.
The breakdown further shows that the sum of N2,697,484,036.33 has been approved for the procurement of Hi-tech branded security gadgets to be used by the security agencies.
Another sum of N353,316,424.50 has been set aside for the procurement of other sensitive security facilities.
The Commissioner explained further that apart from the total of N640M which was approved by the immediate past administration for the procurement of security gadgets for members of Community Security Watch Corp, an additional N320M has been added to the earlier approval.
