It was a beautiful political get-together by thousands of APC supporters at Kaura Namoda of Zamfara state as they congregated to witness the inauguration of the reelection bid of Governor Bello Matawalle.
APC supporters in their thousands stormed the Kaura Namoda-Gusau highway with joy and admiration to greet the Governor and celebrate with him, as he moved to meet other stakeholders for the campaign rally.
Former Governor Ahmad Sani Yarima, Abdulaziz Yari, Mahamuda Aliyu Shinkafi as well as serving and former Senators, House of Reps and Ministers joined him to Mount the podium.
The less than an hour journey took the Governor more than five hours, as his convoy was greeted with joy and admiration from one point to another.
One interesting aspect of the Kaura Namoda campaign rally which took place at the stadium on Tuesday was the manner at which all the former civilian Governors assembled on the podium to raise the flag of APC as a “symbol of hope” as the voice of the populace stood behind the candidature of Bello Matawalle and all the nominated APC candidates.
Governor Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura opened the floor by commending Governor Bello Matawalle for championing the course of political reconciliation from among the APC political power brokers in the state.
He went extreme to declare those who refused to accept the APC political reconciliation as those who have gone “astray politically”.
Yari, on the other hand, expressed optimism that with the coming together of who is who in Zamfara politics under the APC umbrella, all is set to teach those who refused to accept the political reconciliation the bitter lessons of their lives.
He debunked the rumor mongered in some quarters that some people are bent on selecting some out of the APC candidates, noting that his message for all the APC supporters in Zamfara state is to vote for all the party candidates across the divides.
He assured that by given Matawalle the second chance, he will surely do more to improve the lives of the people of Zamfara and consolidate from the existing democratic gains already put in place.
Senator Saidu Dansadau took time to provide details of what religion of Islam said about reconciliation and urged the people of Zamfara to reflect on the impacts of the political reconciliation already felt and continue to support the initiative for the better.
Former Governor Mahmuda took time to remind Zamfara people the effort made by the APC government headed by Governor Matawalle to provide adequate infrastructural development despite serious economic crises hitting the state.
He described as significant the construction and upgrade of the state government house Gusau, provision of local government lodges as well as other infrastructures needed for the state transformation.
Former Governor Mahmuda also reminded the state citizens of the impacts of the human empowerment scheme initiated by the Matawalle administration, pointing that if given the second chance the government will expand the scope of the intervention by empowering more.
Governor Bello Matawalle who was looking visibly happy expressed gratitude to all those that attended the campaign Flagg off and assured them that his administration will continue to do its best to deliver on the campaign promises and expectations of the citizens.
He pointed that his second coming as the Governor of Zamfara will accord priority to human empowerment, job creation and also provision of critical infrastructures.
Matawalle assured that the relative peace already enjoyed by the people emanating from the ongoing political reconciliation will continue to be sustained for the benefit of Zamfara people.
At the end of the speeches, all the APC candidates from the Zone were formally introduced to the thousands of APC supporters by the state party Chairman Tukur Umar Danfulani and the Chairman of the Gubernatorial campaign Council former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.
The campaign team also paid visitation to some prominent Islamic clerics and Emir of Kaura Namoda for them to bless the political journey
The campaign train moves to Bakura for the flagging off of the Gubernatorial campaign in Zamfara West.
