A chieftain of All Progressive Congress APC in Zamfara State Alh. Bashir Namada Ataka has described as mischievous the rumor going round the social media that he has defected to the ruling people’s Democratic Party.
He said for once he has never thought of defecting from the APC because it is still the party with overwhelming majority in the state.
He said the recent picture of him and Samaila Funtua a chieftain of the PDP circulating the social media is not enough reason to tell the fake story that he has defected to the ruling PDP.
“Samaila Funtua is a business associate and our relationship predate the coming of this government, and he used to visit me at Na’Allah Motors anytime he so wishes and because we belong to different political parties does not mean we should not relate again” Ataka added.
He reaffirmed his loyalty to the former Governor of Zamfara Abdulazeez Yari and the APC saying for long he has resolved to stay in the APC because he is convinced that with Yari as the party leader APC will still emerge victorious in 2023.
He therefore calls on the people of Zamfara to ignore the rumour as it is the handiwork of political enemies who wanted him in PDP by all means.
