NEW NAIRA NOTES SWAP: SEN. UBA SANI URGE GOVERNORS TO MEET PRESIDENT BUHARI

The APC gubernatorial candidate for Kaduna state in the forthcoming 2023 election Sen. Uba Sani has called on the 36 state Governors to come together and meet the President over additional extension of time on the new naira notes swap.

Uba Sani who stated this in an interview with BBC Hausa service, said Governors should be reminded that, they are responsible for security management of their respective states and as such they need to come in unity and approach the President so that he can be briefed on the real security situation of their respective states.

“They need to come together and appealed to the President Muhammad Buhari. The CBN Governor cannot interfere in the monetary policy of the country without the approval of the President, so he needed to be contacted and briefed on situation of things as it relates to the states”.

When asked about the ten days extension as announced by the CBN Governor, Sen. Uba Sani said ten days extension is not enough hence even those Nigerians who are opportune to access the banks could not be paid the new naira notes; hence they are not available.

“We at the level of the National Assembly are making effort to ensure that the time has been extended to six months. Our role is to meet agreed on resolution and advise the executives . We have relates the popular views of the people we are representing and it seems the state assemblies also have to begin to lend their voice on the matter” Sen. Uba sani added

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
