NEW ZAMFARA CP UNVEILS POLICING STRATEGY AS HE HELD MAIDEN PRESS CONFERENCE

Zamfara police Commissioner Mr Ayuba Elkana has unveiled his new policing strategy which he said include intelligence driven and community participation.

The Compol who spoke during a maiden press conference to mark his assumption in office said his new policing strategy would be driven by the fore knowledge and guided by intelligence at strategic, operational and tactical level.

He said police in Zamfara under his watch would be proactive, preventive in orientation and conducted within the context of public ownership, partnership, participation, problem-solving and community support with a mainstream human security.

He assured that he will continue to strengthen community policing and encourage the participation of the citizens in the policing of their communities so that they can be active to support the police in achieving a secured environment.

The CP said, on assumption of duty, he has held an emergency meeting with strategic and tactical commanders and made a careful review of the existing security challenges and devop strategies to tackle them.

“I want to assure members of the public in Zamfara State that, the police under my watch will discharge its mandate in line with the Constitutional Provisions and other professional ethics of the force. Furthermore, human right violation, corrupt practices and other unprofessional conduct will not be tolerated”.

“Let me at this point use this platform to warn all the recalcitrant criminal elements in the state to key into the state government peace process programme and surrender their arms or face dare consequences, while members of the public should continue to support the Police and other security agencies with credible information on activities of criminal elements in the state”.

CP Ayuba Elkana further said, “The combat readiness, determination, and total commitment of the police under my watch will be through total onslaught against recalcitrant criminal elements, and this will be carried out in partnership with the State Government, other security agencies, Traditional Rulers, Community, and Religious leaders”.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
