Attention: Mr Mamman, DG Press to HE Mai Mala

In his courageous and issues-driven politics, Sen Kabiru Marafa raised pertinent points that undermined the legality of the APC National leadership under Mai-Mala Buni while equally providing the rationale for his APC-led faction to conduct a parallel congress.

It is interesting that the issues raised by Senator Marafa did not sit well with the so-called caretaker leadership of APC under Mai-Mala Buni through a statement attributed to one Mamman Mohammed who called himself DG Press and Media Affairs to Governor Mai-Mala Buni.

We want to thank the DG for acknowledging the fact that Sen Marafa is a responsible politician.

But instead of addressing the issues raised by Senator Marafa against his boss, Mr. Mamman went bluffing and describing the actions of the highly respected Senator as “political suicide” and advising on the obvious stance of going to court which Senator Marafa unequivocally stated in all his statements.

In responding to his statement, we consider it imperative for Mai-Mala and his co-travelers on the road to perdition to what the famous boxing champion Muhammad Ali says “Bragging is when a man says what he can’t do. I do what I say”. This is because Nigeria and the world has witnessed the courageous and responsible way Senator Marafa conducted his affairs as a Senator of the Federal of Nigeria and his political engagements in general.

Thanks to the interventions of Senator Marafa through a legal process that went to the Supreme Court from the case of irregular primaries in 2019, Nigeria’s political space was awaken from the political impunity that happens in party primaries with the promise of changing ways of doing things including the much-celebrated direct election.

We cannot allow ourselves to be distracted by the outburst of Mr. Mai-Mala’s spokesman and lose sight of the real issues raised by Distinguished Senator Marafa.

For the record, Senator Marafa took Mai-Mala Buni up on;

1) The stupendous and scandalous amount of money and assets he declared in his code of conduct form as published by Sahara Reporters which are not justifiable in the context of his family and or business antecedents.

2) Senator Marafa also related the misguided actions of Mai-Mala Buni as products of his lack of formal education, his history of never attending a school and challenged him (Mai Mala) to mention the legitimate schools he (Mai Mala) ever attended.

3) Senator Marafa also recalled how he and Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i were instrumental to Mai-Mala’s emergence as APC National Secretary and went further to mention names of some eminent personalities that are all alive as witnesses to his claim, such as the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Senate President Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawal, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, Sen Ali Modu Sherif and so on, on these grounds, Senator Marafa questioned the moral disposition of Mr. Mai-Mala Buni’s arrogant and undemocratic ways of doing things in APC generally and Zamfara in particular as if he has a pedigree beyond being a councilor, SA to the governor then party National Secretary before becoming a governor. One would have thought Mamman would debunk these claims or get across to one or all the eminent personalities mentioned by Sen Marafa to debunk the claim.

While assuring the DG of Senator Marafa’s willingness, readiness and determination to challenge the legality and all the actions taken by the illegal contraption called CCECN in court, we want Mai-Mala and his media warriors to address the pertinent issues raised against his/their principal.

We believe strongly that the malpractices, we see under his questionable leadership of APC have direct links with his accumulation of unjustifiable wealth, lack of formal education of any degree and weak political experience. We also trust that these should be amplified because they are incongruent with the ideals of APC and President Muhammadu Buharis administration.

We await your response on the issues raised so that we can move to the NEXT LEVEL not unwarranted personal attacks Please.

Hon. Bello Bakyasuwa Maradun, Spokesperson to Senator Marafa-led APC Faction in Zamfara State

The Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara state Faruk Ahmad Shatiman Rijiya has challenged those in the APC to prove whether the embattled eighteen seater bus they were making noise over was personally donated to him by Governor Matawalle or for the office of the PDP Publicity of Secretary.

Shatima who declared this during a Press Conference in Gusau on Friday said, contrary to the noise making round the public, he has never, for once, begged Governor Matawalle to dash him a car instead, the Governor personally feels he wanted to donate the car to him because of the role he played during his electioneering campaigns in 2019.

“If they wanted the car to be returned as claimed, let them tell the world how the Governor donated out the car to me through late Ibrahim Mallaha of blessed memory. The Governor gave the car to late Mallaha for onward handing over to me as personal donation, and I am certain if they met the him, he will confirm this to them.

“I am not in politics for vehicle, asked those who were with us in 2019. I used my personal Peugeot (406) to move with the Governor throughout the campaign period. I was not paid even money for fuel and the Governor knew that, and may be in his wisdom that was why he decided to dash me a vehicle I did not beg for”.

On the new security measures taken by the Governor, Shatiman Rijiya said he is sure the measures are targeted at the supporters of the PDP and because election is approaching, noting that they have every reason to entertain fear.

If the measures are initiated to get the lives of the typical Zamfara citizen better and secured, PDP will welcome the idea but noted that, under the current situation, the party and its members are not confident enough with the Governor’s pronouncement.

The Zamfara State Secretary of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Faruk Ahmad Shatiman Rijiya has called on Governor Bello Matawalle to desist from insulting PDP because it was the platform he used to become the Governor of Zamfara state in 2019.

Shatiman Rijiya who stated this during a Press Conference on Friday reminded Governor Bello Matawalle that, the certificate of return issued to him by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was bearing the name of the PDP not APC the political party he defected to.

He described as morally wrong for the Governor to be rendering insult on the party that produces him as a substantive Governor, noting that even the people who are very familiar with his political antecedent and how he emerged as the Governor of Zamfara would not be happy with him abusing his original political platform.

He added that, PDP will continue to watch things as they unfold in Zamfara and continue to raise alarm where right decisions are not taken in the overall interest of the people of the state
