Zamfara State Police Command has repelled an intended attack by over 200 suspected bandits at Dansadaau market on Friday.
This is contained in a statement by SP Shehu Muhammad the police Spokes Person while reacting to a story by a national daily which claimed that there was a clash between Fulani and traders at Dansadau area which resulted in the killing of 23 persons.
SP Shehu also denied that 23 persons were killed in the attack but explained that in the course of the encounter between the police and armed bandits (4) traders got injured while they scampered for their safety.
He said if not for the professional reaction by the police operatives, the planned attack would have cause serious instability in the area.
He however said, police operatives had since commenced a serious manhunt of the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
He assured that any person found involved in the planned attack would be made to face the wrath of the law.
He also enjoined people who have knowledge or information about the perpetrators of the act to reach out to the police for action.
