Good leadership is premised and acquired through experience, dedication, commitments and focus on people oriented goals to be achieved, in addition to these qualities in politics, a good leader should start from the grassroots level to feel and know the yearnings and aspirations of the people which he can later expand to replicate in other communities while his responsibilities grow.

Such are the qualities of an astute politician and academic doctor in the making, APC member elect for Birnin Magaji/Kaura Namoda Federal Constituency of Zamfara state, Honourable (Dr) Aminu Sani Jaji, a personality who is returning to the green chamber through the strong believe of his constituents that his representation surpasses others that have served them as his people also are now showing appreciation to the new and returning members of the House of Representatives in particular and Nigerians in general for encouraging him to be the Speaker of the 10th Assembly.

Jaji who has always kept his promises and contact with his people even as he traveled the world searching for more knowledge, is currently most qualified candidate for the speakership of the Federal House of Representatives for reasons that include the massive support and following he is enjoying from a larger percentage of the members, his unifying ability of the people from all sections, regions and affiliations of our dear nation, his mobilization ability that covers people right from the grassroots has been pushing him into many leadership roles.

While serving as Executive Chairman of Birnin Magaji local Government Council of Zamfara state, members of the state’s chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) saw his potentials and immediately gave him the Secretary position which he managed effectively even though he was just coming in as a local government council chairman for the first time. This position and his record of achievement therefrom made his people together with those from Kaura Namoda local government area which make up the federal constituency decided to elevate him to represent them at the national assembly, a call he respectfully accepted and successfully discharged.

Even when Jaji now in his late 50s could not go back to the national assembly between 2019 and 2023, as a respecter of the rule of law was waiting for 2023 general election but maintained all his contacts within and outside the state including his colleagues at the national assembly.

In order to execute some of the good welfare packages introduced by the Buhari administration, an honest and acceptable person was required, thus President Muhammadu Buhari gave Aminu Sani Jaji that responsibility where he served as Chairman of Baba Buhari For All which took him to almost all the 774 local Government Areas across the 36 states of the federation where he put smiles on the faces of all the beneficiaries of that gesture which cut across party lines.

As the APC Presidential Campaign kicked off, the party did not hesitate to bring him into the fold of National coordinators charging him with several responsibilities as Coordinator Contact and Mobilization, Northwest Zone APC Presidential Campaign Council that will and had earned to party the successes it recorded including the presidential victory and earning Jaji more respect from all especially the President elect.

Jaji who is a promoter of justice, fairness and rule of law would certainly not have ventured for the speakership position if not for the fact that he has majority support from his colleagues, he is eminently qualified and above all, that to achieve balance, the speakership position should be zoned to the Northwest zone where he comes from.

I am optimistic that Hon Aminu Sani Jaji deserve the position of the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives considering his vast experience in all ramifications.
