Zamfara state police command has assured the Christian community in Zamfara that adequate protection will be provided for them,, especially in their churches and other places of worship.
State Police Commissioner Ayuba Elkana stated this in a response to letter of threat written by some unknown persons threatening to launch attack on churches in Gusau the capital city of Zamfara.
The CP said, the letter was dropped at the police headquarters in Gusau, adding that, the police were yet to ascertain where it came from.
We are yet to ascertain where the letter came from, but considering the current situation in the country, we will not just sit down and overlook the content of the letter”.
The CP assured that adequate security personals will be deployed to ensure security of churches and mosque during prayer services.
“I have directed that adequate security personnel should be deployed to churches and even the mosques from next Friday”.
