WADATAU MADAWAKI TESTIFIES AS ZAMFARA PDP CLOSES DEFENSE AT THE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION PETITION TRIBUNAL.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Zamfara state has closed its defense on Wednesday after presenting one single witness.

The PDP witness Mal. Wadatau Madawaki was the PDP state collation agent at the just concluded 2023 election.

He was led in evidence by the PDP lead counsel who double as the party’s national legal adviser, Mr. Ajibade (SAN) who used the opportunity of the witness to tender form EC8(B) for the ten registration areas of Maradun as well as form EC8(C).

Asking Questions during cross-examination APC counsel Ibrahim Ali (Esq) asked Mr. wadatau whether he was at all the poling units on the date of the election and he replied that “he was at his poling unit on the date of the election but has a cause to visit some nearby poling units to see how election was conducted.

When asked how he got wind of the information used in filing his statement on oath, he replied that, “he got the information from the party’s agents; hence he was restricted at the state collation center.

After cross examination of the witness the tribunal ordered INEC to open its defense, hence PDP had announced the closure of its case.

But Barr. Tinge (Esq) who handled the brief of M. I. Dikko (SAN) lead counsel for the INEC move an oral application for adjournment to Thursday the 17th of July 2023 to enable the lead counsel to appear and lead the matter.

The tribunal, after consulting other parties, adjourned the matter to Thursday the 27th of June 2023 for continuation of the hearing.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
