YARI, MARAFA FACTIONS OF APC IN ZAMFARA LOSSES OVER 1000 SUPPORTERS TO PDP

Governor Bello Matawalle has received over 1000 supporters of the All Progressive Congress from the factions of Abdulaziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa in Bungudu Local Government area council.

The defectors were received earlier by the PDP State Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani Maikatako and later presented to governor Bello Matawalle at his residence in Gusau.

Leader of the decampees, Comrade Abdullahi Danda Bungudu said they were at the governor’s residence to extend their solidarity hence they were formally received at the state party office by the Chairman.

Comrade Danda Bungudu further said, they were forced to move to the PDP after becoming convinced of the strategies adopted by the Governor in tackling insecurity and restoration of relative peace in the state.

They said they were also impressed with the volume of laudable projects executed by the Governor of Zamfara less than two years in the office.

Bungudu further observed that, before the coming of the Matawalle led government Zamfara was turned to almost a failed state considering the level of carnage recorded almost on the daily basis.

In his response Governor Bello Matawalle said his administration is determined to bring desired transformation to the people of the state at all levels and also secure the state for viable economic reforms.

According to the press statement by Governor Matawalle media aid Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau said, as a leader, his primary responsibility is to protect the lives and properties of the citizens including their dignity for upcoming generations.

He assured them of equal treatment in the party and also commended their decision to join his party, the PDP for the purpose of developing Zamfara state.

Matawalle added that with people of calibre like Danda Bungudu joining the party, he is sure that a lot will be achieved.

Notable among those who defected were Comrade Abdullahi Danda Bungudu, Alhaji Adamu Abu Samawa and Alhaji Abbas Abdullahi Bela who was the current Vice chairman of APC in Bungudu Local Government.

GOV. BELLO MATAWALLE NAMES NEW EMIRS

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has approved the appointment of Alh Muh’d Bello Suleiman as the new Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi (Emir of Zurmi).

He has also appointed Alh Aliyu Garba Marafa as the new Emir of Birnin Yan doto while Alh Muhd Aliyu was appointed as the new Sarkin Bazai.

The two emirs of Bazai and Birnin Yandoto were appointed following the signing into law the amended Zamfara Emirate Council Act 2022 which led to the creation of the two additional emirate councils of Yandoto and Bazai.

As for the new Emir of Zurmi he was appointed following the dethronement of the former Emir Atiku Abubakar by the current administration of Bello Matawalle

According to the statement signed by the Secretary to the state government Kabiru Balarabe, the Governor also approved the appointment of Alh Habib Lawal Habib khalifa as the new Bunun Tsafe the Senior District Head of Tsafe.

Both appointments take immediate effect.

STUDENT AFFAIRS OFFICER OF ZAMFARA POLYTECHNIC, KIDNAPPED

The student Affairs officer of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talatar Mafara Malam Sanusi Kaura was among those kidnapped along Abuja-Kaduna express road on Tuesday.

He was kidnapped while on his way to the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) pre-mobilization training in Abuja.

Mr Sanusi Kaura was a former NASUU chairman of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talatar Mafara.

It could be recalled that, some suspected bandits stormed the Abuja-Kaduna highway on Tuesday and kidnapped over forty, according to the reports by some national dailies.

The polytechnic authority through the school website urged the public to include the abductee in prayers.

BREAKING: ZAMFARA PDP CHAIRMAN COL. BALA MANDE SUSPENDED.

Zamfara State PDP state working committee has announced the suspension of the state party Chairman Rtd. Col. Bala Mande until after an investigation into the allegations raised against him is concluded.

According to the statement by the state party publicity secretary Abba Bello and issued to this medium by the PPS to the former Deputy Governor Aminu Umar Game-Game the Chairman was suspended over anti-party activities.

The statement added, “this becomes necessary owing to the fact that the State Chairman has been conducting the affairs of the party without the involvement of the State Working committee”.

The statement said his actions are in clear violation of the various sections of the PDP constitution.

It added, “this has become necessary to forestall the abuse of power and the derailment of the rules governing the running of the party”.

“The suspension is for a period of one month, this is expedient to allow the Working Committee to constitute a panel of inquiry into the allegation”.

“Considering the foregoing, the Vice Chairman Kaura Namoda zone, Mallam Ali Namoda will oversee the activities of the party for the period of his suspension”.

Bello further said, the state working committee has inaugurated a panel of inquiry to investigate this allegation.

The members of the panel are Ahmed Sani Kaura Chaiman, Bala Zurmi Member, Sanin Baba member, Abdulhadi Ahmed member, Suwaiba Bako Member
Abul Mustapha member while Barr. Ibrahim Jibril is to serve as Secretary.
