Zamfara state All Progressive Congress has pledged to ensure a hitch free campaign exercise as the ban on political campaigns has been lifted.
This resolution was reached at the state executive committee meeting of the APC held at the party secretariat Gusau on Wednesday.
It was chaired by the Deputy State Chairman of the party Alh Hassan Marafa Damri with all members of the state executive council in attendance.
The executive council members also expressed happiness with the level of grass root support enjoyed by the party and promised to consolidate from the gain of its popularity.
According to the state by the party’s Publicity Secretary Mal. Yusuf Idris Gusau, “the party will focus on issue-based campaigns that will bring more unity and development in the state to have a more united and secured Zamfara state”.
It also promised to fight any act of political thuggery that will cause breach of peace in the state before, during and after the campaign exercise.
According to the party spokesperson, the executive council committee also appreciated the commitment of the APC leaders especially President Muhammad Buhari and indeed Governor Bello Matawalle for ensuring that, relative peace has been restored.
The party also commended the local government chairmen for instituting a wider consultation and mobilization at the grassroots, which add a strong boost into the chances of the party.
