The Zamfara State Chairman of All Progressive Congress Tukur Umar Danfulani has assured that the party would be solidly behind any move behind peaceful conduct of electioneering campaigns as well as election in Zamfara state.
The chairman gave the assurance on Tuesday during the signing of a “peace accord” with other political parties in the state as facilitated by Inter Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) which took place at the UBE Teacher Training Center Gusau.
Danfulani who noted that although the signing of the peace accord is a seasonal political tradition in the state, reaffirmed that the APC in the state will continue to create peaceful political atmosphere where all political parties are given equal opportunity to play politics within the ambit of the law.
According to the statement by the party’s Publicity Secretary in the state Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau APC as a ruling political party in the state had initiated an internal mechanism in which all aggrieved members and other actors in their thousands are contacted, and their grievances are resolved amicably.
He added that, it is in that spirit that APC will continue to strengthen its mechanism to ensure that it has promoted an atmosphere of political peace as the ruling party.
He called on all the other political parties to continue to emulate the effort of the APC in the state and the desire of Governor Bello Matawalle to see to the growth and progress of the state.
According to Mr. Idris the state APC Chairman was aided by the state Deputy Governor Send. Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, Speaker Zamfara State House of Assembly Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya and host of other politicians.
