Zamfara State Commissioner for Finance Rabiu Garba has insisted that, payment of salary to State Civil Servants begins either on the 15th,16th or 17th of every month since the inception of the administration of Bello Matawalle.
He made the declaration at the radio Zamfara phone in programme on Sunday where he reaffirmed the atatement earlier made by the Governor during a BBC Hausa program.
It could be recalled that, Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has declared during a BBC Hausa programme “A Fada a Chika” that payment of salary in Zamfara begins either on the 15th or 16th of every month since his inauguration as the Executive Governor of the state.
Rabiu Garba insisted that, by standard once print out was released by the Ministry of Finance money for the payment of the salary are outrightly released to all banks but noted that delay is usually encountered every month due to some bureaucratic botlneck by banks.
He said sometimes because of the loan facility usually collected by state civil servants, some banks have already programmed loan deductions for 25th, 26th or even 27th so they tactically delayed the release of salary to civil servants till the actual date in order to coincide the payment of salary with the loan deductions by banks.
Rabiu Garba further said it will be a negative act of political opposition for someone to castigate the pronouncement made by the Governor in BBC Hausa programme on the payment of salary hence civil servants are partially parts of the problem.
He alleged that, even some heads of government agencies have advise the government to henceforth delay the payment of monthly salary till 25th of every month in order to minimise financial crises among civil servants.
