Zamfara state Deputy Governor Hassan Muhammad Nasiha has paid a surprise visit to some selected MDA’s aimed at seeing things for himself.
Spokesperson of the office of the Deputy Governor Babangida Umar Zurmi said, in all the ministries he visited, no commissioner was met on seat and the turn out of the civil servants was to write home about.
Zurmi said only five permanent secretaries out of the nine ministries visited by the Deputy Governor were met in their respective offices.
Sen. Nasiha according to Zurmi expressed concern with the attitude of some commissioners and Special Advisers for showing lackadaisical attitude toward office work.
Zurmi said the Deputy Governor also expressed dissatisfaction with the unhygienic nature of some government offices, a circumstance that shows clearly that the chief executives are not alive to their responsibilities.
The Deputy Governor, therefore, directed the Secretary to the State Government and Head of Service to ensure that such attitudes of both civil and public servants are changed toward the better.
He gave instructions to the Secretary to the state government and Head of service to ensure that all commissioners, permanent secretaries and rest of the civil servants have reported their movements to them at all time.
Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau called on all the chief executives and accounting officers of the MDA’S to apply take stringent measures against going to office late or absenting from work as the government will not continue to tolerate such behavior.
