ZAMFARA FIRST LADY HONORED FOR REDUCING BEGGERS ON THE STREET

The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Aisha Bello Muhammad has been nominated as a recipient of  the Most Valuable Governor’s Wives Award  (MVGWA) 2021 for her commitment towards promoting Girl Child Education in zamfara state.

According to the statement by the Press Secretary to the Zamfara First Lady Zainab Shuaibu Abdullahi, the nomination letter and award which was presented to the First Lady on  the 23rd of March 23rd, 2021 at Sheraton Hotel Abuja, described her as a “distinguished personality who have made her mark in  reducing beggars on the streets”.

The MVGWA is designed to lead a new phenomenon in the assessment and recognition of the governors wives  who are providing complementary  achievements to the governors successes.

The MVGWA selected the first lady of Zamfara State from the North West geo political  zone of Nigeria using Girl Child Education as its unique selling point.

 The Governors wives are part of the democratic team that have been providing  grassroots development hence the institute of this award.

The themes of the 2021 edition of this award are specifically targeted at working toward ending  rape in Nigeria., activating entrepreneurship through  tourism.

The 36 governors wives and the wife of Fct Minister were assessed based on their project’s availability in the public domain and their impact on  beneficiaries in their various locations.

Furthermore,the  MVGWA assessment team used the criteria Sustainability, Empowerment, Impact, Change Agent and Cooperate Branding (SEICC) according to global best practicing to shortlist the recipients.

SEN. YARI DONATES (13) TRUCKS OF MAIZE TO PEOPLE OF TALATAR MAFARA

Former Governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West, Hon. Dr. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) has secured (13) trucks of Maize containing (3900) bags for distribution to his immediate community of Talatar Mafara.

The distribution is to be handled by the (11) man committee headed by Malam Hamza Abubakar.

A total of 68 communities consisting of 21,075 households will benefit with a total of 3900 bags of Maize.

According the chairman, the beneficiaries cut across religious devices as instructed by the donor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

According to the committee Chairman, former Governor Yari has considered the social condition of the people emanating from the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration.

He assured that, the committee will be just and fair in the discharge of their duties.

He called on people to give them maximum support and cooperation in the discharged of their duty in order to achieve the desire success.

(31) PEOPLE DIES, (274) SUSTAIN INJURIES IN ADAMAWA ROAD CRASHES.

The Federal Road Safety Corp Adamawa state command has revealed that a total of (31) people died as a result of various road crashes within the state.

The statistics also showed that, a total of (274) people also sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the road crashes.

The Adamawa sector command also recorded (126) various road crashes involving (548) passengers within the period under review.

The statistics covered a period of January to July 2023.

The sector commandant of the state, Mr. Yelwa Dio when he interacted with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He attributed the road crashes to over-loading, over speeding and making telephone calls while driving.
