Governor Bello Matawalle has assented in to law Zamfara State Legislative and Judiciary Autonomy Bills.
According to the statement by the Director General Press Affairs Malam Yusuf Idris said the two bills were assented at a brief ceremony held at the government house Gusau on Thursday.
Idris said considering the significance of the two bills, the Governor does not need to wait for a bigger ceremony before he signed the two bills to law.
The two laws are named Zamfara State Judiciary Autonomy Law and the Zamfara State Legislative Fund Management Law and Related Matters Connected Therewith, 2021 (1442 AH).
Governor Hello Matawalle assured that his administration would continue to ensure separation of power and delegation of statutory responsibility at all time.
“I do not see any reason why we will not allow the autonomy of these two strong arms of government, which will ensure the smooth running of government and the progress of our dear state”.
“We will not politicize or joke with your responsibilities, you’re funding and the autonomy, therefore, with this signing into law, it is my strong conviction that we will continue to work as partners for the growth and progress of our dear state and the good people of Zamfara,’ he noted”.
He called on them to guard themselves against all forms of corruption in utilizing the funds.
Responding, the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Ma’azu Magarya commended the governor for sustaining a cordial working relationship with the legislative and judicial arms of the government and assured him of reciprocating the gesture by being proactive in the transformation of the state.
