Zamfara State government has secured the release of 12 women from the hand of suspected bandits along Bungudu local government area of the state.
This release came barely less than a week after three most popular bandits surrendered their arms and embrace peace.
In a remark, Governor Bello Matawalle expressed satisfaction with the development and assured the people of the state his administration’s readiness to continue to explore more options for peace to continue to reign.
He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing with the ongoing peace deal aimed at ensuring that more bandits have accepted peace.
The victims also expressed gratitude to the Matawalle administration for being proactive in ensuring that, peace has returned to the state.
In a related development, the suspected bandits involved in the kidnapping expressed regret over their involvement in the act and outrightly embrace peace after swearing to the holy Quran.
