Zamfara State Commissioner for information Ibrahim Magaji Dosara has described that the recent comments by former Governor of Sokoto Attahiru Bafarwa against the new security measures taken by Zamfara state government as demeaning to his status as former Governor.
Dosara who spoke during an interview with BBC Hausa service on Friday said, former Governor Bafarawa should have allowed Governor Matawalle to conduct analysis of the security situation of the state before he decides whether to go on tour of the state and assess the impacts of the new measures or not.
Bafarawa accused Governor Matawalle of refusing to tour round the state and assess the impacts of the new measures he had instituted, instead he jetted out of the country.
But Dosara asked whether if former Governor Bafarawa is always around when Governor Matawalle tour round his state as a Governor, noting that the comments by former Governor Bafarawa do not go well for the state government of Zamfara.
He added that even recently during an NTA program, Sokoto State Commissioner for Security had announced that 80% of the armed bandits operating in Sokoto recently are those pushed away by the new measures adopted by Zamfara State government, noting that Sokoto state government promised to adopt same measures.
Dosara said the new measures have succeeded in restoring relative peace in the state
