The recent uprising against the activities of suspected Fulani bandits in Anka has continued to raise too many questions as to the multi dynamism of Zamfara insurgency.

The scenario in Anka is a particular one; hence it speaks volume about the suspicion of the non challant attitude of the authorities to confront this issue of insecurity with all the sense of sincerity it deserves.

The uprising in Anka on Saturday occurred when the locals began to suspect that the Fulani herders who fled their settlements inside the bush and come to erect temporary structures on the outskirts of the ancient town of Anka were taking advantage of that asylum to be abducting and killing innocent people.

The suspicion of the locals became evidently convincing when they mobilized to search for some abductees who were alleged to be kept inside the temporary structures.

Information available to this medium revealed that two out of the many abductees were found under hostage by these suspected Fulani herders and beside about seven deadly guns, including (2) AK47 rifles, were recovered inside these same temporary structures erected by the Fulani herdsmen.

The development sparked the anger of the locals who believed that the time had come for them to chase away these heartless suspected Fulani herders who are taking refuge on the outskirts of their town and at the same time causing the community more alarming hardship.

The Saturday scenario in Anka has caused serious confusion as armed bandits who are believed to be relations of the suspected Fulani herdsmen were alleged to have mobilized strongly preparing for a reprisal attack on Anka community that same day and in the broad-day light.

Thanks to the security agencies for being active to ensure that such a reprisal attack did not occur, but the signaling alarm remains red in Anka town since that time.

It was learned that since after the Saturday’s incident there have been continuous threat against the people of Anka town over possible re-appearances of these bandits for taking revenge.

Now, the Governor had met with the security agencies on Monday, and I am sure all those in the position of authority could not deny this open fact that Zamfara is burning.

It is burning in my opinion because there is no where that is safe anymore and one can be a victim of these bandits anywhere and anytime.

The tragedy in Maradun, Bakura and that of yesterday in Bukkuyum are evidenced enough to prove this assertion that Zamfara is burning on the rising flame of fire.

Bandits in their hundreds armed with deadly weapons have been given Zamfara people sleepless night, the strike on the highway, abduct at night and attacked farmers inside their farms.

They have been enforcing levies and fines on countless communities of Zamfara running into millions of naira while many communities are living tactically under the rules of the bandits.

The bandits are striking without identifying who is who, even though in some exceptional circumstances they operate on the target of the heartless informants.

We had been speaking the truth to the authorities that all was not well, and the Governor specifically needed to begin to speak to the higher authorities for help.

It is logical to say issue of security is an exclusive preserve of the government at the center, but identically also the common man in Magamin Diddi, Farm, Barikin Daji, Danjibga, Rukudawa and Shanawa knew nobody than his Governor.

He is seemingly not ready to understand at the extreme end that the Governor has a limit to what he can do more or less during the campaign the Governor gave the common man an array of hope that he will do everything possible to secure him and that informed his decision to vote for him.

It is no longer an office interface, the Governor of Zamfara needs to shout loud and clear by telling the government at the center that things are falling apart in Zamfara and there is the need for urgent intervention.

The Governor also needs to with immediate effect unveil his social safety plans for the victims of banditry and also develop a strategic template to ensure that those who lost their lovely ones and breadwinners are massively accommodated and accorded the deserving sense of belonging or else they would turn to bandits in future God forbid.

Farmers are no longer safe at their farms, students are under serious threats on their campuses, residents, and households are no more safe and could not sleep with their two eyes close same way commuters playing Zamfara highways can fall victims of banditry and kidnapping.

These are the characteristics of Zamfara of today.
