Two Corp Members from Benue State posted to Kebbi and Sokoto have been abducted by some suspected gunmen along Gusau-Zaria road.
Zamfara State Police Spokesperson SP Shehu Muhammad in a statement on Friday said after the receipt of the sad news, the State Police Commissioner Ayuba Elkana paid an assessment visit to the NYSC orientation camp in Tsafe to assess the existing security arrangement with a view to ensuring the safety of the Corp Members.
Shehu further said “on the 19th of October 2021, a vehicle with reg. No GBK 339 ZY was attacked by armed bandits while travelling from Benue to Sokoto State near Wanzamai village in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara State and abducted several passengers.
In an address at the orientation camp the CP said his command has already commenced investigation into the whole scenario noting that search and rescue operation has commenced with a view to rescuing the Corp Members.
The Compol assured the Corp Members that the command would do everything possible to ensure their safety.
