Zamfara state Police Commissioner Mr. Yusuf Kolo has paid a working visit to the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda.
According to the statement by the Police Spokesperson SP Shehu Muhammad, the visit was as a result of the ongoing highway patrol started by the CP since his assumption in office.
Shehu said the patrol of the (63) kilometers Gusau-Kaura Namoda highway was to enable the CP get himself informed of the security situation in the state.
While at the Polytechnic Shehu said, the purpose of the visit by the Commissioner was for him to make an assessment of the existing security architecture of the state and find the lasting ways of improving them where necessary.
Shehu further said the visit by the CP was to fulfil the commitment of the Inspector General of Police to ensuring the implementation of safe school initiative.
The Rector of the College Dr. Yahaya Bande received the Police Commissioner, where he described the visit as a morale boost and an attempt to enhance the security synergy between the management of the institution and Police in the state.
The Police Commissioner on his part urged them to be security conscious and always report suspicious movements to the Police or other security agencies for action.
He assured them that police will apt and do all what is possible to ensure the safety of schools in the state.
