Suspected bandits opened fire on passengers plying Moriki to Kaura Namoda road on Saturday, killed one and injured several others.
According to a survivor who spoke to this medium said, he was travelling back to Gusau from Moriki when bandits armed with deadly weapons opened fire on their moving vehicle exactly around a popular place called “KwanarJalop”.
He said after realizing the danger ahead of their destination, they decided to turned back to Moriki and mobilized mobile police officers for reinforcement.
He told this medium that after reaching the same location, the bandits fired back again and the mobile police officers engaged them on fire exchange.
He said thanks to the police they escaped the attacked and drove to Kaura Namoda where they continued with their journey to Gusau.
Furthermore, he further said another set of bandits attacked one vehicle which was heading to Shinkafi from Gusau and killed one passenger, living several others with various gun shots wound.
He said the attack took place along Jangeru-Birnin Yaro road noting that the wounded passengers are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Zamfara Police Spokes person SP Shehu Muhammad could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
