The Spokes Person of Zamfara Police Command SP Shehu Muhammad has declared that Special Adviser to Zamfara Governor on Security Matters is responsible for the payment of monthly allowances of the mobile police on special duties not the police command.
Shehu who was reacting to the calls made by mobile police officers on special duties in the state alleging non-payment of their operational allowances for eight months said those complaining are under “Operation Puff Adar” and they are supposed to be taken care by the SA Security of the state.
When asked if there is friction between the command and state government over the crises, he said, “there is no friction at all those who are under the care of the command are being paid their allowances by the CP while those under the care of the state government are supposed to be handled by the Special Adviser Security matters”.
“The state police commissioner has not received a formal complaint about non-payment of the allowances of any police officer conducting operation in Zamfara, and he usually holds meeting with their different tactical commanders every Monday and none had raised that issue” Shehu added.
It could be recalled that last weekend some mobile police officers raised alarm over none payment of their operational allowances for eight months despite their suffering in the forest.
