Zamfara state government has inaugurated a nine-man taskforce committee saddled with the responsibility of monitoring, distribution and sales of petroleum products in the state.
According to the statement signed by the Director General Press Affairs office of the Deputy Governor Babangida Umar Zurmi, the constitution of the committee followed the outcome of a meeting held between the state government and stakeholders in the petroleum sector in the state.
Zamfara state Deputy Governor Hassan Muhammad Nasiha inaugurated the committee on behalf of Governor Bello Matawalle and explained that part of their statutory mandate was to ensure that petroleum products allocated to the state has been made available to the people.
Sen. Nasiha charged committee members to be alive to their responsibilities and also discharge their duties with the fair of God.
Chairman of the taskforce who doubled as the Special Advisers to the Governor on Legal Matters Barr. Abdulrasheed Haruna promised to work according the terms and references of the committee.
He assured the state government of their readiness to deliver to their new task without fear or favour.
Other members of the committee included Muhammad Habib Alhassan, Abubakar Garba Bala, H R Abubakar, Adamu Ibrahim, Nuraddeen Abubakar Wara, Garba Mukhtar, and Kabiru Ladan ‘Danmasani as members, while Hon Yusuf Abubakar Bisu Ruwan ‘Doruwa serves as Secretary.
