A total (1,700) journalists have been killed worldwide between 2003 and 2022.
This statistics is according to the report released by Reporters without Border.
Breakdown of the statistics also shows that, at least (80) journalists have been killed worldwide on annual basis.
Reporters without Border with headquarters in France stated that between 2003 and 2022 journalists world over had suffered the worst hence majority of them were heartlessly killed while carrying out their jobs.
The report also indicated how complex and dangerous the job is becoming within the year of under review.
The Secretary General of RSF Christoph Delores stated that there are faces of those who have made sacrifice for the profession but lost their lives while making effort to provide credible information for the public.
Syria and Iraq are the most dangerous countries for journalists where (578) journalists were killed within (20) years.
RSF also reported that, between 2012 and 2013 (142) journalists were killed
