Members of Zamfara House of Assembly committee on Finance and Appropriation has down-sized the 2023 appropriation bill to (N184,872,119,000:00) as against (N188,872,227,000:00) earlier presented by the Governor on the floor of the assembly.
According to the new approved budget the capital expenditures stands for (N80,278,500,000.00) while the recurrent expenditures stands for (N104,593,619,000.00)
The report of the committee further recommended that, there should be harmonious working relationship between all the revenue generating agencies as well as coordinating ministries of Finance and Budget and Economic Planning in terms of reporting accurate budget performance and ensure accuracy in keeping financial records.
The Chairman of the Finance and Appropriation committee Shamsu Hassan Basko thanked all stakeholders including the media for their support and cooperation in ensuring successful budget defense.
In a remark, Speaker Nasiru Muazu Magarya commended the members of the appropriation committee for painstakingly going through every bit of the appropriation bill and making sure the appropriate estimate is arrived at.
